Casa MU is located on the Mediterranean mountainside, where Lycians- early civilization inhabited the coast and hills which are still represented by many stone relics including the distinctive rock-cut tombs.
Casa Mu has been designed as separate blocks as a single family house as a homage to ancient roots by materiality, openness, and light.
Stone masonry is a key element of design, excavated from the land, which are rock-piled instead of rock-cut tombs. These natural stones are perfectly adapted to existing rock formations and take a stand on dry sunny days and heavy rains.
Two blocks; one rectangle and second as a flat-roofed, rectangular structure with inward sloping sides are blended with courtyards. Bright and warm colors of stone in white and earthy tones are resembled as well on the terraces as finishes on the flooring and on seats in-built furniture resistant to this climate as microcement.
